Your solution does not answer problem #1: How do private insurance cos. win the same price concessions from health care providers that Medicare gets? I've seen this up close and perosnal. I saw a health care provider charge $540,000 for a liver and kidney transplant. Rich people pay that. Private insurance cos. pay between $200,000 and $400,000, depending upon how large they are and how much clout they have. Medicare paid $120,000. Everyone makes money at $120,000. But only one Mercedes in the family and a crummy American car for the Mrs.

I fully realize that the Republican solution is to let people die. It works for the system. If that is your version of "the American Way," then you are consistent in your views.
