Exactly. What I know is:

1. The country is heading towards a financial cliff with our current health care costs.
2. There are at least a dozen proven models of single payer or modified single payer that produce excellent results at ~1/2 the cost.

What I readily admit I don't know is the source of every cost savings. I can take a swing at some, and health insurance overhead is a slow pitch that is an easy hit. But certainly there are other things at work.

You can hate the idea of single payer and the ramifications of single payer. All I know is that it is a proven method to reduce cost and get decent results. Which is what we need.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon...
