My only connection to the world of OCR is a small Oregon company, Adaptive Solutions (ADSO) which has been re-inventing itself over the past two years after leaving the field of add-on graphic accelerators. An announcement today states they are buying Kodak's OCR department for stock and future royalties--I'm not sure what the signficance is, but anything that indicates continued existence is a plus for this battered company. I'm still long ADSO, though I've watched it come down from the 6's to about fifty cents. It's now back around 1.25.
