Socialism is just 1960s hippie communes writ large. At least the hippie communes had a significant proportion of people who were willing to work to make them work. Not enough of course as the bludgers and spivs always win. In the state-run socialist enterprises, the looting is so much better than in a hippie commune where there are only the neighbour's carrots and potatoes to take. Hippie communes universally failed and all too often, the alpha males ended up in prison for sexual predation on young females. Socialism on the state scale doesn't work either though the USSR managed to launch satellites into space and so on by forcing state serfs into the only available income jobs other than 5 year plan farming on state farms for a pittance. Tradable citizenship is the way to recognize individual share in state assets - they would have a method of exit other than just surrendering their property. Mqurice
