Even more interesting has been the reporting on Barton Biggs. According to Barrons (AA's latest column), Biggs, who has been correctly bearish on Asia right along, in the US "sees a garden variety bear market--a 20% to 30% decline--that could turn into a real ugly secular kind if the powers that be 'screw up'". On Charlie Rose Monday night, however, Morgan Stanley's Byron Wien said that Biggs sees our market as vulnerable only to tune of 20% (from the top). Both reports were dated Monday. Hmmm.
