This is what I posted on another thread:

Looks to me like health care reform is going to fail. Again. Instead of blaming the opposition when the Democrats control the entire federal government ... as they did the last time they tried this and failed .... why not admit they bit off too much.

Instead of making reform about the uninsured and compassion for them, they chose to make it about changing the health care of EVERYONE ELSE in the country, most of whom are satisfied with their health coverage as it is, and demonizing health insurers for making profits. We have a private capitalist economy. Profits aren't evil. They're what drives the economy and creates jobs and abundance.

If the Democrats really cared about the uninsured, 45 million or however many of them there are, they would have made reform about THEM ONLY. Not exploited them as a ploy to grab power over the rest of us.

---------

If I'm wrong and it does pass, I hope it does so with no Republican support. And if any Republicans vote for it, I hope they're kicked to the curb for it.

The calls for bipartisanship, for Republicans to join with Democrats on this and on cap and trade should be spurned. The Democrats don't need a single Republican vote for these bill and haven't been willing to give Republicans any say in their drafting. Just a demand to go along with what Democrats want.

I say let the Democrats own it all. The calls for Republicans to join them is just a ploy to spread the blame if and when disaster results.

The Republicans should be an opposition party, not Socialist Lite.
