Admittedly the legislative scheme is complicated but the language you are referring to amends the current medicare legislation and sets out the end of life counseling as a benefit that Medicare will cover and pay for.

Yes, I've read these claims, too -- and find them no more credible than the claims that the provision requires it.

Until some independent attorney runs this down and presents a legal analysis of it, the debate will continue.

It is dangerous--for anyone who doesn't understand the intricate relationships of these laws as they stand and as they are changed by this bill--to draw any conclusions.

So, I'll rescind my earlier statement and say, "I'm not sure".
