The battle against socialized medicine depends on the doctors speaking out against it—not only on practical grounds, but, first of all, on moral grounds. Agree with that. However, there is one more important objection - Having a federal government of this size is an un-American idea. By handing them over control of 17% of the economy we are entering territory which is totally new to the USA. We may not want to go there. There are other ways to solve problems -- handing over the entire field to the fed is not the only solution.
