GREENSBORO, N.C. - For the second time in the last three years, Virginia Tech is the favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference, according to a vote at the ACC football media days event

Tech, which will be led by Hampton High graduate Tyrod Taylor, finished atop the conference in 2007 after media picked the Hokies to win. Tech will have 16 starters returning from a team that also won the conference title last season, despite the fact that Clemson was deemed the media favorite heading into the season.

Tech will open its season Sept. 5 in Atlanta against Alabama. The ACC slate opens for Tech on Sept. 26 with a home game against Miami. In addition to five Coastal Division foes, Tech plays Atlantic Division opponents Boston College, Maryland and North Carolina State this season.
