Most hard core alcoholics I came across died from cirrhosis, severe pancreatitis, seizures or cardiomyopathy long before they had a chance to develop coronary disease. I am sure that my former drinking and smoking played a part in my two bouts with cancer and my CAD. It's amazing how your liver can recover from alcohol abuse.
