IBM Corporation and Gateway 2000 have announced plans to include digital video disc ( DVD ) players in computers to be released for Christmas 1997. Compaq Computer Corporation and Dell Computer Corporation are waiting for prices to fall before including DVD in their range of computers. Gateway 2000 product manager, Michelle Vanzella, says the company's personal computer range will have the DVD by Christmas with notebooks to follow in 1998. The DVDs can hold up to 133 minutes of video. The cost of the DVDs will determine the wide spread acceptance of the units by consumers
