The African Americans get one seat on the supreme court (don't say it, that is how it is-lol!).

The Blacks hate Thomas. It was a dirty trick of the Republicans to give the black community's one seat to a hard core right winger who probably has Stockholms disease) and who not only embarrases them, but votes agaisnt them.

The dems gave the blacks one seat to Thurgood Marshall who the blacks loved and was admired by the world.

Thurgood Marshall (July 2, 1908 – January 24, 1993) was an American jurist and the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. Before becoming a judge, he was a lawyer who was best remembered for his high success rate in arguing before the Supreme Court and for the victory in Brown v. Board of Education. He was nominated to the court by President Lyndon Johnson in 1967.

So the Black community wanted we liberals to oppose him,.

Sotomayor was a whole different kettle of fish. Despite what you thing, sotomayor is highly respected in the academic and judicial community and someone the Hispanics are proud of.

So proud in fact, that Puerto Rico was talking about applying to become a state they were so proud of her.
