I shined shoes. My grandmother was a weaver, think "Norma Rae" the movie. She had a candy dish she would put change in for me and would let me dump her big purse out on the floor to look for more change. All families struggle in one way or another. The best advice I can give is to use all your experiences to make yourself the best you can be.
