Gray and overcast here for the rest of the day from what I understand. I don't think you are going to see much sun this weekend.

LOL!!! Not much sun??? We got to the top of Chinook Pass and found a huge fog bank. Rode into it to mist, rain and 30' maximum visibility. Nothing like riding a high mountain pass [5430']in the rain with 30' visibility knowing that on the other side of that 2' stone wall is likely a drop off that does down 500 feet.

We brought camping gear but ended up staying at the most lovely Randle Motel Friday night and at the Packwood Inn last night. I definitely recommend the Packwood Inn over the Randle Motel.

As for sun, we lost it Friday at the top of Chinook Pass and didn't see it today until shortly after we crested White Pass on the way home.
I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

BTW, we stopped at Hause Creek on the way back to show it to our friend Dave. Were talking with the campground hostess, Carolyn, and she told us that they will be drawing down Rimrock Lake the first two weeks of September. There will be a lot of kayakers on the Tieton River during that time, many of them launching from the Hause Creek CG. We're toying around with heading up that way for a weekend of camping. Care to join us?

Further BTW, you recommended site 25 before. I think it was site 20 you meant. It was empty today and we explored. The parking area is at the campground drive, but you walk in and down a way to the picnic table. It's right at a bend in the river and very private. I think that is my favorite site. Site 19 is very nice also.
