Clinton had to show up over there, have the big group photo on Kim's astroturf, shake hands and carry on with him -- essentially "bowing down" to the Dear Leader.

Overall, it seems fairly harmless, but that is discounting Bolton's view, and he probably understands these nuances better than anyone in the US. Might other countries be further motivated to grab US citizens? Of course.

A tougher, stronger president than Obama might have stayed out of it. One gets the sense that Bill Clinton would have preferred to be out of it.

Its striking how your view is so diametrically different from mine and others. I can't tell whether you're pissed that Clinton/Obama pulled this off, or that you really believe the spin you are putting out.

What I do know is that Obama/Clinton pulled this off with a minimum of effort and loss, and are to be commended.

And what I hope in the future, Americans will stop being so damn stupid when they are not in their own country.
