I think Reagan was a buffoon. Yup... And established the tradition of modern day Republicanism, wherein an idiot is annointed and functions as the bagman for the moneyed special interests who can capture their childlike, Ayn Rand tendencies, and turn them into reverse Robin Hood policies to the detriment, and of late, the near ruin of the country.
