Man, so sorry to hear that. Hope she's doing ok for now, her cancer's under control at least.
For the blacklist thing, Canada's better for sure ... that would never happen here.
I've got my own death panel story, btw, where I thought I was the death panel ...
Back when he was 76, my father was in the ICU from a botched colonoscopy/polyp procedure that gave him peritonitis ... after a week or more, him still on a respirator and comatose, I asked a nurse if maybe ... she explained no, patients his age ... a few days later, him awake and breathing on his own, but flipping out of his mind, she then explained 'icu psychosis' ... <g>
Upshot was, a month later he was back to being himself, and then lived to 85, all but the last year reasonably good.
As for the torture nation thing, saw that ... I'm still going to give him a year, but after that O's going to own it for sure.
There just might be hope, though, for health care reform and maybe even the rule of law one day ... slight flickers of sanity emerging in your national media:
