On a return trip from San Diego several years ago we got into a heavy snow storm at Vail. We sat and waited for a highway department snow plow to arrive, then followed it all the way up to the Eisenhower Tunnel. All of that at 5 or 6 mph. But, we couldn't have gone if not for the plow.
