Its been my experience that the vast majority of my fellow citizens don't have a clue as to what is taking place around them. More to the point, they don't really care. After all, the economy will pick up sooner or later and "things" will get back to normal. Try explaining that we now have FEMA camps and a government taking us down the socialism path and you're looked at as a fringe lunatic. Unfortunately, most people do not want to hear the truth. They're more concerned with the price of gas or the local gossip. Democrats blame Republicans and vice versa. Expecting them to open their minds and begin to comprehend concepts they have never dealt with is close to impossible. It goes against their "programming". At first I thought it was apathy. How else can you explain the lack of response and protests? I now believe the average person simply does not comprehend the changes taking place and more importantly refuses to consider how these changes will affect their lives in the future. It's easier to just not care.
