>>Like Obama you think you have some kind of "right" to have your every need met by the nanny state.

This is the reason most Americans are angry about what Obama is doing. Most of us take care of ourselves and don't WANT the government involved in our lives.<<

Government is what saved us during WWII!!

It was a good thing government was involved in our lives, or we might be speaking German or Japanese today!

We may yet have to fight another big war with China or Russia or Pakistan. You better hope government is very strong if we do.

It has nothing to do with a nanny state. A nanny state portends mankind can live on his own. Anyone banished from the tribe in days past, died without the protection from the tribe.

The human species is a pack animal and by nature we live in tribes. Both the health of the individual and the health of the tribe have to be respected.

The reason the individual has a vested interest in keeping the tribe strong is to protect the individual. In days past a strong tribe protected the individual from other tribes who would harm them or wild animals or to get food, which was shared.

During WWII we all sacrificed for the tribe (rationed gas and had victory gardens) to make the tribe strong enough to fight Hitler and the Japanese.

Any of that make sense to you?
