A Reply to #msg-25854637 Pat was a long time tripper in the Canadian woods. This is a pic from his final trip in 2000. There is a camp in Canada where your son can go starting around 8 to 10 years old. Each year they teach him more about the wilderness, sending him out on longer trips. ottertooth.com The A Trip, the photo above, is the longest. The boys go out for seven weeks and work their way back to the main camp. The first year he was a tad bewildered....not exactly the kind of camp an 8 year old might expect. As time went on he became very self reliant, still that way today.
