Well, that's a waste of a good learning experience. Can't learn anything if you don't test and measure.

Or demonstration projects like the European systems <gg>.

A local plan is a better choice. The variables are fewer and more knowable. There are simply too many variables between the US and European systems to measure anything useful.

Do you think the private insurance companies have a vested interest in low or high health care costs?

I would think it would be a a very minor factor, that is, only matter at the margins. Do you think it matters?
