Why shouldn't Democrats in Congress and the White House pledge to drop their current health insurance and agree to use whatever public plan they come up with?

I am against the "public plan" - and it makes no difference whether or not politicians will agree to join it. Not to mention that they would receive VIP treatment regardless of what insurance they have - especially if they come to own healthcare.
