Korea also has universal health care, but there is a LOT less CYA medicine being practiced there than here. If you want something for your ailment, you just go to a pharmacy and ask for something. Or you just go to a doctor and follow his instructions. Here, there are so many people involved in the health care process that it's no wonder health care is so expensive.

Even then, Korea is trying to cut health care costs. There was an article in the Korean media a few days ago about hospitals dumping poor patients out on the streets because it's too expensive to care for them. Gee, that happens a lot in Los Angeles as well. I thought universal health care was supposed to solve all that, LOL ...
