this could be one of the great market failures of all time. understand that virtually all--that means all--assets are pledged to banks for 9 billion $. paramount has virtually no product in pipeline and cannot get funding to make pictures. forest gump was last big hit, and that was in the can before it was acquired by viacom. blockbuster was expected to give them the cash flow they needed to pay off debt. so far it has been a goose egg. national amusements, private co of redstone, controls viacom. it is possible that they may have bot stock on margin. if so, it could be bye-bye soon. redstone has made too many enemies in the business world for anybody to do him a favor--big or small. his ego appears to be out of this world. some years ago, national amusements was subject of investigation in senate for possibel money laundering. don't believe that anything came of it but who knows what the the future could bring. think that this is a house of cards that is about to crash and could hurt other co's in its group.
