You don't understand. Wingers don't stay in hospitals for an amputation. In fact, its an in-office procedure......the doc [sometimes he's a vet doc] cuts the leg off in his office, sews it up and has you out of there in an hour tops. He gives you extra gauze in case there is seepage. So its not unusual for a leg amputation to cost $700-1500.

Obama is the guy who blew it when he claimed that surgeons get paid $30K for an amputation. It was an absurd claim.

There is no surgical procedure for which a surgeon charges anywhere near that or even 1/3 of that. Even a combination heart-lung transplant. And he gets paid by Medicare a FRACTION of what he charges.

As was pointed out Medicare will pay hundreds of dollars, maybe $1000 for a foot amputation.
