AARP is becoming more about promoting their insurance offerings than it is about representing seniors.

Fifteen years ago when I started taking care of my parents, I looked around for the best insurance options for them. At the time, AARP had the best Part B plan and they were very efficient at administering it. Never had a problem with them.

When it came my turn, Blue Cross (now Anthem) offered a better less expensive plan than AARP. I think AARP is losing market share because they're less competitive. Insurance used to be one of many services they offered. Now it's their main focus because it brings in the most money.
