Because, in some areas, socialism IS superior to private enterprise. Health care is one of them. Actually, socialism is probably superior for ALL forms of insurance, for obvious reasons.

1. It doesn't have to make a profit. By definition, it can't make any.

2. It doesn't have to play games with the insured TO make a profit.

The right wingnuts will deny these obvious facts until the end of time.

I think private enterprise and free markets are superior in the vast majority of human endeavors. But, not all.
