Medicare is a good program if you are a recipient. It is heavily subsidized but the cost is unsustainable. seniorhealth.about.com I have heard the MA program defended by some and others say it is bankrupting the state. The Tennessee plan is an admitted failure. We need people to stop making ridiculous claims and instead try various ideas, honestly evaluate them, and see if we can solve the problem. I think if we go to single payer we will be rationing health care based on age and disability. This may not be the wrong thing to do, but it is not something that should not be done in a stealth manner. If that is the direction we are considering let the light of day shine on it. As you know I doubt the government will approach the problem in a rational manner, but I am prepared to be proven wrong. lj
