Krauthammer is regurgitating the data from the new england journal's article I posted. But the article has been challenged for looking at prevention in the same narrow way as you do.

It is a question of what we can afford.

Your response to it is a byproduct of conservative priorities. That stupid guy that stood up in one of Obama's town hall meeting, the NRA fellow, who said we didn't have the money to do this would probably, just like you, vigorously defend spending a Trillion dollars in a war of choice than spend the same $$ domestically to care for the country's citizens and improve health care...hell, you would dismantle medicare because "we can't afford it"...and offer absolutely nothing in its place by the way. You belong to the party of "do nothing" and you've managed to bamboozle the gullible among us.
