Nonsense. That is what this argument over a "government option" has been about. It is obvious that no insurance company can "compete" with the federal government, which has a bottomless pit of borrowing ability.

It may take 20 years, but eventually, private insurance will be driven out. Which is the objective. This is, BTW, precisely what others like Barney Frank have said in a foot-in-mouth moment.
