I agree that the analysts are wrong about Asia, at least in the semiconductor area. It is not just a question of whether they will invest capital in news fabs. The point is that they have already invested a tremendous amount money in infrastructure, training a skilled workforce, hiring and training skilled Ph.D. engineers, and developing supplier and sales relationships. What are they going to do - sleep through the next generation of fab upgrades and lay everybody off? I think not!
