Look at what you see? There are lots of other stories about July being cold.

Bob surely you know that when climate scientists talk about "global warming" they are talking about trends and about more of the world than the American midwest. Or even N. America. Or the western hemisphere.

Every who actually studies this knows that warming is happening. The questions concern (for a few people) the causes of that warming (some think that other environmental factors are more important than fossil fuels, with some of those factors being natural and others--like land use changes, draining wetlands and urban heat effects--being man-made that are more important than fossil fuels), and the strength and timing of feedback effects and consequences (e.g., how long will the glaciers of the world continue to exist? How much desertification will take place? How will precipitation be affected?). Evidence for the warming besides temperature measurements spanning decades and even centuries (on land and in water) and melting glaciers around the world (with only a few exceptions) includes things like changing bird migration patterns and species distributions (including plants, animals and fish), the way weather is changing optimal planting and harvesting times in many places around the world (not to mention optimal growing places--I just read a long article which says that Oregon is starting to take CA's place as premier vineyard territory, and some areas of CA that have grown grapes for generations are having difficulties now because of changes in the weather). Those kinds of things can't be falsified and are found throughout the world, not just in one or two places.
