Notice gold didn't do so well during the height of the last banking 15-20 years ago. Also what do the periods 1976-79 and 2002-07 have in common that caused gold to shoot up the way it did besides featuring two of our least popular presidents, control by one party and skyrocketing oil prices? Both ended with a serious recession but one had sky high interest rates and inflation while the other ended with generation lows in interest rates and some deflation.. Okay I'm still confused<g>
