The problem as I see it is that the major players: providers-insurance companies-drug companies have no vested interest in lowering cost

That doesn't make sense. They're the ones paying the cost. Why would they enjoy keeping the cost high, much less passing it onto their already pissed-off customers?

So Intel would like to sell microprocessors at the same margin percent but a lower price?
