> Do you think JAVA will change the earnings for SUNW?

I think we may have gone over this many times and to avoid repeating ourselves I just say the following:

Java provides the infrastructure for the new computing model. It transforms fat software applications into thin (as well as fat) components that can be run on very cheap thin client machines (such as NC, Digital/Web TVs, etc.). In this environment software becomes server centric rather than its current awful form of being fat client centric! This in conjunction with internet manifests into a larger audience being able to run and to use software applications that could have only be run by more sohpisticated users (such as PC/UNIX/VMS/Apple/etc. users). In addition to that Java is becoming the defacto standard for embedded software (such as in specialized chips used to open your hotel door, or gurage door, or toaster, or SmartCards, etc.).

Anyway, In short Java means being able to sell more servers because it introduces a computing model that has a much much larger audience than the existing Wintel computing architecturel. And If selling more servers and NCs mean more earnings for SUNW then, in my humble opinion, the answer is an absolute Yes to your question!
