If methane is becoming seriously cheap, perhaps it's time to fire up the methanol plants again, convert power stations to methane instead of coal and oil, install CNG in vehicles, turn on gas heating for houses instead of electricity [I should check local prices - we use electricity but maybe we should be burning methane which we have piped to inside the house].

It doesn't look as though the rising oil prices will stick with methane is at a record difference from oil.
