At the right price, methane will go into vehicles in a big way, either as methane, as methanol or as synthetic gasoline [as Mobil produced in NZ in the 1980s].

For dinky little city cars, methane would be a good fuel. Compressed air is a bad idea, but compressed methane is not.

Perhaps LNG might even be doable.
