Lima mining stocks up 124% year-to-date, juniors up 205% - Peru

Miners trading on the Lima stock exchange (BVL) have seen their share prices rise 124% on average so far this year to August 17, while juniors trading on the bourse have jumped 205% in the same period.
The information is based on 11 miners and five juniors that trade on the BVL.
Of the miners, lead-zinc-copper producer El Brocal rose the most, having felt its C shares soar 237% from the start of the year.
Next came zinc-lead miner Morococha, whose class I shares increased 214%, followed by zinc producer Volcan with a 176% rise in its B shares.
Copper-lead-zinc miner Raura jumped 171% in its I shares, while copper producer Cerro Verde's C shares bounded 149% and Santa Luisa investment grade stock was up 145%. Tin miner Minsur's I shares rose 91.7%, precious metals producer Buenaventura climbed 26.1% and Southern Copper advanced 59.6%.
Meanwhile in juniors, Candente Resource has risen 229%, Panoro Minerals 214%, Vena Resources 175%, Alturas Minerals 360% and Fortuna 46.2%.
None of the companies measured have suffered losses in their stock values year-to-date. |
