Yep, at the same time they gave the public appearance of easing,
while orchestrating a major tightening operation, so that the blame
would be put some place else. The pros were scratching
their collective heads thinking this was an error.
I don't think so - the Fed is well aware of this effect,
as they recently discussed it as the means to mop up
liquidity. They were printing 0 also.
