In other words, lots of rich people are now panicking and dumping their homes at what they would consider fire-sale prices, but in quantitative terms are still above $500K.

I do agree that this capitulation may signal a bottom, though. I've been thinking about a move to Northern California for career reasons. Not sure how I'd get rid of my upside-down home, though.
