I did a straight comparison between the US and Germany, France, Canada, using the exact same metrics and definitions.

No you didn't. You adjusted for one difference in metrics/defintions (small babies) and not others (for example babies dying within one day not counting toward infant mortality no matter what their weight).

Also asserted your conclusion on that point, but you didn't present the data or methodology so we can't even know if you really presented an actual comparison based on real data and solid methods, or just tossed out some numbers and said "see I'm right".

Furthermore you didn't adjust for, or even acknowledge other differences that have nothing to do with the way infant mortality is defined and measured (For example, a larger number of teen mothers in the US contributes to actual infant mortality, its not a statistical artifact of how mortality is measured, but it has very little to do with national differences in health care and health insurance systems.)
