8/21/09 update
Whether it was Bernanke's beard or bald noggin we'll never know, but he managed to get the Bulls all excited this morning and the market finished the week with a strong gain. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 28.59% CYTD, or Contest Year To Date, (vs. up 26.34% CYTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 12.69% CYTD (vs. up 10.34% CYTD a week ago), while the Contest median was up 24.74% CYTD (vs. up 23.24% CYTD a week ago).
GENE's portfolio fell back a bit this week, but its lead remains formidable. RKRW's portfolio barely managed to inch by MIKE's portfolio to take back second place by half a hair.
The week's closing CYTD percentages are: GENE up 150.63%, RKRW up 104.37%, MIKE up 104.23%.
At Friday's close, 27 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 23 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Enjoy the weekend biotechies!
