The Fed just announced another slew of new borrowing. $197 billion of auctions next week! I have to shake my head and wonder how much longer they can get away with this before it begins causing a major disruption. People should already be running for cover. I’ve summarized the auctions for next week in the table below: Date Billions 90 day 24-Aug $ 31 6 mo 24-Aug $ 30 1 yr 25-Aug $ 27 2 yr 25-Aug $ 42 5 yr 26-Aug $ 39 7 yr 27-Aug $ 28 Total $ 197 The details are available at the Treasury Direct web site: treasurydirect.gov
