Note that production is set at 100 for 2002. Wonder what it would be if set at 1990?

Note the percentage of industrial capacity utilization and compare it to different time frames. Almost one third of our industrial capacity is presently unused.

If that isn't enough, go to the next set of statistics linked below. For just about each category of industrial production, there has been a decline since 2000:

This is terrible graphic evidence of decline.

Unemplopyment statistics are massaged, of course.

The rally is really in trouble. I would be quite leery of the equities markets. There will be another substantial downturn IMO, the only question is its timing.

The remedy, fiat inflation, is worse than the disease.
