I hope so . . . I've got some cash ready to put into MUEI when it hits 13.

The awards momentum of Micron lately is amazing. It reminds me of Dell back in 1990, when most corporations bought Compaq or IBM. Now most corps buy Compaq or Dell.

But the MU ownership, I believe, is one of the big reasons MUEI isn't going anywhere. Having 60% of the stock tied up with one stockholder, who wants to unload it, causes a lot of uncertainty for investors. The competition is also severe.

I'm a corporate Dell buyer, but I'm pondering a switch to Micron. Dell computers don't have the snap they used to, they're reliable and offer reasonable performance, but they are boring. And the Dell salespeople are getting a little smug.

Regarding a takeover, my bet is on HP (pure speculation). They were looking at Packard Bell a while ago and the more cutting edge technology in the Micron boxes seems a better fit with their company than a Gateway. They've never had much success with their own boxes, and may want an easy way into the direct sales model paradigm of the moment.

Just random musings. I'm long at 15.25.
