>>someone told me if an i phone battery goes dead, no way to replace it. built into the phone, just like i pods. you'd have to replace the phone. true?

Apple will happily replace the battery for you for approx $75.

The extended warranty is $69 (1 yr)... which does cover the battery.

Phone comes with initial 1yr warranty, it is rumored that the batteries die after about 1.5 yrs.

We will see.

Never the less, it is a sweet system.

Latest interesting gadget is the free google app for IPhone. Just speak your search terms and it finds what you want. Automatically ties in to GPS (if you have it on).

I used it yesterday, works great, seems to require no training to recognize English words (including names like "Jamba Juice") on the first try. After about 5 or 6 lookups, it did miss one spelling for me (which I subsequently typed in)... name of an Italian tile distributor (Belosian?).
