Well, you may have a long wait. As for competition, at present time (except in terms of standard cell phone voice) as far as ease of use and available programs does not exist IMHO. I have been hoping the G2 would work, but screen is too small, and they have it crippled so Skipe will not work on it except to use your cell minutes. Skype works free (no cell minutes used) on IPhone when connected to wi-fi. Interestingly, Apple has now hired its own chip design team. If its proprietary chips make it into its own devices it could make it even more difficult to compete with. Next rumored thing: IPad (kind of a cross between an IPhone and a laptop) with 9 or 10" screen and handwriting recogintion, and I assume a keyboard similar to IPhone and of course wi fi and cell access. Stay tuned.
