Paul, Greg, Fred, Jules, All Others,
There are some significant and sincere investor concerns that are posted on the thread this evening concerning primarily the growth of Intel through 1998. To a certain extent I share this concern, but I think I am more optimistic.
My only rebuttal would be to say that nobody, including all the analysts and SIA and Intel, have a clue as to the real growth of the PC market in 1998. It could be well below or well above estimates, the only way to get an accurate estimate would be to ask every business and every home consumer worldwide what their plans are, and still their plans might change. Beyond 1998 new products should produce new high margin sales. This is not very comforting.
I sense a negative shift in investor sentiment, and as posts #38314 and #38336 indicated, there are serious concerns.
I would appreciate a "step back" to look at the overall business, and your best guess as to what we can expect in 1998.
Thanks,
John
