There is enough water running into the ocean in Southeast Alaska to supply the entire United States, but I doubt anyone will want to do that.

Seems it would be Ok to me to send it south-lol? People feel that is a nutso idea, but I am not sure why? Territoriality, environemental dogmatism-lol? Just goes into the ocean anyway.

A little less fresh water would actually allow more ocean fish to come in closer to the mainland. Water is too brackish for most ocean going fish to get inside the Inland passage.

Ling cod do not come into the inside, nor do most rock fish unless it is very deep (saltier). Halibut, cod and salmon are about it until you get to the outer coast.

Also no abalone or muscles inside. Lots of crabs and shrimp are though. Huge amounts of fresh water run into the ocean every day from the mainland.

Interesting phenomenon few know about.
